Board Service: Giving Back

Board service is where strategy and mission meet. As a thought partner to the organizations I serve, I help boards hold fiduciary responsibility and mission in productive tension. This is the balance that makes bold, impactful work possible.

The organizations with which I’ve been privileged to work reflect the commitments that have shaped my career, and remain an ongoing source of learning in partnership with dedicated leaders and their teams.

  • The NAEd is the nation's most distinguished honorary society in education research. Membership is by election from peers and recognizes sustained contributions to the field.

  • Bank Street has been a touchstone throughout my career, from my early years as a research scientist at its Center for Children and Technology to my current board service. It remains one of the country's most important institutions for progressive, child-centered education.

  • Sitting at the intersection of science, education, and community engagement, GMRI develops collaborative solutions to ensure the Gulf of Maine ecosystem thrives in a warming world. Serving as a trustee provides a firsthand look at how locally rooted institutions build trust and drive consequential, real-world change.

  • Post is a Connecticut-based university with a strong commitment to accessible, career-focused higher education. My board service reflects my ongoing engagement with questions of engagement, educational access, and equity.

  • Sphero builds programmable robots and creative coding tools for children. My board membership keeps me connected to the frontier of learning technology and the commercial landscape in which educational tools are developed and deployed.
